Solar and ColliCare have worked together since 2017, and over the years the partnership has gradually expanded to include additional services and regions. The newly signed agreement extends the collaboration by another two years and will also include ColliCare`s new terminal in Drammen as part of the transport solution.
Significant increase in transport volumes
The contract extension comes during a period of substantial growth for Solar. Following the acquisition of Sonepar, the company has strengthened its market position and experienced a significant increase in transport volumes. According to Solar, the integration process has been successful, allowing new customers to transition seamlessly into ColliCare`s transport network.
Solar has seen freight volumes increase by between 30 and 40 percent, making scalability and operational reliability more important than ever.
"We have experienced a 30-40% increase in freight volumes. During this growth period, it has been important for us to work within a transport solution and environment that we know well and that allows us to quickly increase capacity. This has given us the confidence to focus on our customers while continuing to grow," says Eirik Wiig Naalsund, Transport Manager at Solar.
He also highlights the close cooperation around transport planning as a key success factor.
"ColliCare has been a valuable partner, engaging early with suggestions on how we can optimize operations while maintaining a high level of transport quality. The collaboration is open, and there is plenty of room for dialogue and new ideas. Together, we find the best solutions," He adds.
High expectations for a logistics partner
Solar`s logistics operations involve demanding deliveries, including construction site deliveries, night deliveries with secured access, and shipments with complex cargo structures. As a result, quality, flexibility, and expertise are critical factors when selecting a logistics provider.
"Many transport provides focus primarily on standard palletized freight. We experience that ColliCare has a stronger focus on customers with more demanding requirements, such as construction site deliveries and complex cargo structures," says Peter Stangeland, VP Operations at Solar.
He emphasizes that quality remains a decisive factor in the electrical industry, both for Solar and its customers.
A partnership built on trust
For both companies, the relationship goes beyond a traditional customer-supplier arrangement. Shared industry experience, short decision-making paths, and close dialogue are highlighted as important reasons why the partnership has continued to develop over time.
"The positive reputation we heard about ColliCare`s services and quality has proven to be true," says Eirik Wiig Naalsund.
Solar describes the relationship as a true partnership, where both parties continuously challenge and support each other to achieve the best possible results.
"Our goal is always to find the best solutions together. We value a partnership where both parties contribute ideas and challenge each other when necessary," explains Peter Stangeland.
Shared focus on sustainability
Sustainability and emission reductions are becoming increasingly important for customers in the electrical industry. Solar is seeing growing demands for environmental reporting and documentation and aims to strengthen its collaboration with ColliCare in this area in the years ahead,
Both companies recognize that the transition to lower-emission transport solutions will require continued advances in technology and infrastructure, particularly for heavy-duty vehicles.
With a new agreement in place, growing transport volumes, and shared ambitions for future growth, Solar and ColliCare are building on a partnership that has successfully evolved for nearly a decade.
