Road transport in Europe
Based on our experience from previous years, securing capacity for road transport into Norway becomes increasingly challenging as Christmas approaches. We recommend planning shipments that need to be delivered before Christmas to arrive in Norway no later than week 51.
For transport between Sweden and Norway, we currently expect services to remain available in week 52, although capacity may be limited.
We expect operations to gradually return to normal after New Year, with loading from week 1 and more regular delivery schedules from week 2.
For export shipments from Norway, we expect some loading opportunities to remain available in week 51. However, we do not expect the transport network to return to full operation until week 2.
Sea freight in Europe
Shipping lines adjust their routes every year over Christmas and New Year. We expect changes to sailing schedules in weeks 52, 53 and 1.
Rail freight from Italy to Norway
Train departures in weeks 52 and 53 will be cancelled. This means there will be no train arrivals at Rolvsøy in weeks 53 and 1.
Last train before Christmas and first train in 2027
The last train departure from Parma in 2026 will be on Saturday 19 December, with arrival at Rolvsøy scheduled for Monday 21 December. The first train departure from Parma in 2027 will be on Saturday 9 January, with arrival at Rolvsøy scheduled for Monday 11 January 2027
This leaves us with a short delivery week before Christmas. We will of course do our utmost to deliver as much shipments as possible before the Christmas holidays.
Freight collection in Italy
We will collect goods in Italy in weeks 52 and 53. The goods will be stored at our terminal in Parma until the next train departure.
We will plan collections as efficiently as possible and collect your shipments throughout the period on days when suppliers are open.
Alternative transport solutions
We will of course be happy to assist with alternative transport solutions during the weeks when rail services are cancelled. However, due to the public holidays, capacity and availability are also expected to be limited for alternative solutions.
Distribution in Norway
Our opening hours and distribution schedule will be slightly adjusted over the holiday period.
